Neo-Victorian Television: Streaming the Victorians in the Twenty-First Century, ed. Barbara Braid

As neo-Victorian television intersects with adaptation, biopic and heritage film, the range of television drama that could be labelled neo-Victorian is as old and wide as the medium itself. Today, television channels and streaming platforms offer a plethora of shows, which are both adaptations of Victorian and neo-Victorian novels, as well as original drama that could be labelled neo-Victorian. Yet, even though neo-Victorian shows have been attracting the attention both of the audiences and scholars of neo-Victorianism for over 20 years now, a comprehensive study of this phenomenon has not yet been penned. The proposed collaborative project aims to address this gap in the existing neo-Victorian scholarship.
